There is little doubt that the Melbourne International Film Festival is the premiere film festival in Australia. There are three reasons for this: the curatorship is brave, broad-minded and always intriguing. The program allows for multiple viewings of the one film, especially documentaries and Australian films. And importantly the program is larger than any other festival and the audience is hungry and attentive.
